Proverbs 24:14 AMP

“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!” Hamilton Wright Mabie

Anticipation may be the best word to describe December 24th across the world. We put children to bed with ‘visions of sugar plums dancing in their head.’ They certainly fall asleep with thoughts of toys and treats on Christmas morning. I believe the world that almost missed the first Christmas morning entirely still had a sense of anticipation. History was at a unique point in time. Scripture tells us it was ‘the fullness of time’ when our Savior eased onto the planet. This truth is “important because it signifies that there were key events and much preparation behind the exact timing of Jesus’ birth.” I don’t know about you, but I love the thought that our Sovereign God orchestrated or knew (depending on your theology) events to prepare the world for the arrival of His ‘Good News.’ One simple example is that the Romans had just finished completing a road system throughout the empire that would enhance the spread of this new movement. There were many others both foretold in scripture and occurring as a part of the advancement of civilization. Today, enjoy and share in the excited anticipation of the celebration to come, yet be aware there are many who still need to meet the Child of the Promise. #BeTheEdge
