Proverbs 25:1 NASB

A little academic thought to start the day. This is one of only a few of the more than 3000 proverbs of Solomon that King Hezekiah wanted to protect for the future – for us. Up until this time most proverbs were passed along, at least partially, by oral tradition. Hezekiah wasn’t willing to risk them being lost in the future. It brings up the question, “What are you doing to be sure Scripture is not lost in your family’s future. What about your friends or company? When we realize, as Hezekiah did, both the momentary and eternal value and power of God’s Word how intent are we on passing that truth along? To teach a Bible study or share regularly God’s Word to your children, friends, or others important in your life is one thing that needs to be considered in your plans. More significantly, seeing that God’s word is understood, treasured, and carried moment by moment in your own journey is irreplaceable. There is nothing you will commit yourself to in life other than your salvation decision that will ever be as crucial and powerful than anchoring your heart, soul, mind, and strength in the depths of God’s truth. Today, spend time focused on building God’s Word into every moment and crevice of your story. #BeTheEdge
