Proverbs 26:11 NIV

Nasty picture. This goes beyond repeating the same sin and getting the same result. In Solomons very clear and graphic description we understand that as bad as the sin that caused the fool to vomit, we now imagine the disgusting nature of having it vomited up and eating that vomit. I’ve seen my dog eat some pretty nasty things but this may take the cake. I’ve also seen a person make a stupid decision. We all do that. But, when I’ve watched them repeat that decision, sometimes multiple times, it is a troublesome sight, at times the consequences are disgusting. Scripture is brilliant at taking us from the view of the moment and giving us an eternal look. If we pay attention as we read we are often told what will happen as a result of actions, both good and bad. The Israelites had it literally shouted into their mind and conscience as they crossed into the Promised Land. Blessings and curses that would occur as a result of their faithfulness or disobedience. We have a clear glimpse of the same thing. It never ceases to amaze me how many people watch others served a meal of vomit or worse as a result of their choices yet believe somehow they will be the exception. They won’t and neither will we. Today ponder the consequences awaiting your actions. #BeTheEdge
