Live long enough, do the right thing regardless of the consequences, and at some point, someone will find something negative to say about you. I’ve known some of the godliest people who lived with the highest integrity. Even they had someone who didn’t like something about them—and didn’t mind letting others know. That always saddened me a bit. After considering the source, I realized that although no one is perfect, it was usually envy or jealousy at the root of those comments. As Solomon tells us, if we walk with integrity and keep our focus on God, some people may feel uncomfortable—but it is God who manages our reputation. It may take time, but our walk is our responsibility; how others perceive us is beyond our control. Trying to manage every possible perception of ourselves is an exhausting, never-ending chore. Walking intimately with our Savior is our goal—and it’s far less taxing. Today, walk with Him and leave your public relations to your King. #BeTheEdge
“no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 NIV
