Proverbs 26:6 NASB

In over 40 years of ministry, 37 of those years as an Executive Director, I have made some amazingly great hires. Those men and women took the gospel into the lives of others in such a way that when they walked into a room, I knew Jesus would be beautifully represented. Sadly, that has not always been the situation. I have at times made unfortunate hires as well. I am a very trusting person and if someone told me they loved Jesus and wanted to introduce others to Him I’d very often say, “Welcome aboard.” That has bitten me in the hind area on a few occasions. The challenge of carefully sending the most important message in the universe, the Gospel, in the right hands usually happened after a lengthy screening process (often laid upon the foundation of years of prior relationship) or ended in myself doing ministry alone. Neither finding the right person nor doing ministry alone are particularly my gifting, but I do prefer the first to the second. The point is, we have a great responsibility to be very careful who is representing us and, more importantly, our Savior. Today, carefully allow the Spirit to build your team, and then equip them to live and share the Message. #BeTheEdge
