Proverbs 28:15 NIV

“Satan prowls but he’s a lion on a leash” Ann Voskamp

The lion is used to represent, in various ways and at various times, both God and Satan in the Bible. Here it represents a ruler being used by Satan. When we walk apart from God and His truth we allow the evil one to take our God given gifts, talents and position and pollute them. He can use them apart from God’s Spirit for destructive and nefarious ends. We know that all good things in our story are gifts from God. Without His Spirit guiding us those good things are no less from Him but they are operating in our own power. That’s where danger lies. The gifts operating without God’s Spirit are distorted. When we operate or walk in the Spirit we produce the fruit of the spirit, ie love, joy, peace, etc.. When we operate, or walk apart from God’s Spirit we produce the fruit of the flesh, ie “sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,  idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.” That’s a pretty ugly list. “In our families, in our businesses, and in our lives. It is no mistake that while Satan is referred to as being ‘like’ a lion God is ‘The Lion of Judah,’. The secret to being as “bold as a lion”- being fearless, confident, and relentless in the pursuit of what we seek-is the conviction that what we are doing is what we are supposed to be doing,” serving God’s plans. Ultimately that plan is to be walking in the power and control of God’s Spirit and Truth in our lives. Today walk in intimacy with God and set His power free in your journey. #BeTheEdge
