Proverbs 29:1 NIV

I’m not entirely sure which theologian’s version of “destroyed without remedy” is ultimately correct, but I’m certain none of us would want any of them. There have been a lot of new shows, movies, and messages about King David in the last few years. Many of them have been encouraging and inspiring. But before Bathsheba, David battled sexual immorality. Scripture indicates “David had an ongoing struggle with polygamy and romantic impulses long before his sin with Bathsheba.” (AIResource) After his fall with Bathsheba, David was never used as powerfully by God. He lived forgiven and deeply loved by God, but there was still a cost. Solomon talks about a finality to the cost when we willingly continue in sin and ignore God’s warnings. The picture he paints is one of a ‘stubborn ox’. An unteachable person eventually reaches what is described as a point of no return. We know there is always an opportunity for us to repent and watch God redeem our history. But if there is no repentance, there is an eternity waiting that is frightening and inescapable. Today, where necessary, repent and be redeemed. #BeTheEdge

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,” Acts ‭3‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬
