How many of us can truly say we can “laugh at the days to come?” I don’t know about you, but I really want to. Much has been said about the “Proverbs 31 Woman,” and it has certainly been deserved. This passage may give one of the clearest glimpses into not only who she was, but how she was who she was. It tells us she was clothed with strength and dignity. Dignity is defined as “the state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect.” And strength is one we all recognize. These character traits are not inherently found within a person. They are the byproduct of a life both well lived and by embracing the will and reality of God in our journey. As we enter a new year, I want to encourage all of us to be sure we practice the things that will develop more deeply the traits of strength and dignity in our story. Then we can also laugh at and enjoy the challenges and promises this coming year has waiting for us, as we recognize that nothing comes into our life that doesn’t first pass through the loving hands of our Father God. Today, reflect on your walk, shore up areas of neglect, and embrace your future. #BeTheEdge
