Proverbs 3:22 NIV

Solomon is reminding his son about the value of wisdom and understanding. We often remind our children of those things that are important to them, teeth brushing, eating vegetables, not playing in traffic and the list goes on. In the stress of daily needs Solomon says not to lose sight of the fact it’s life itself to find ways to model and teach the value of growing in God’s wisdom and living out His understanding. It’s in that that is find what is needed by our children, employees, friends and all those who encounter our journey today. It’s not about preaching or wearing religious attire (whatever that is). It is about being salt and light in what is becoming an increasingly flavorless and dark world. Let’s clear up a bit of confusion, the life being talked about is not primarily our physical life. There are plenty of places in scripture that promise long life, etc. for living by Godly principles and behavior. The ‘life’ here represents an impactful life for the Kingdom. It is the life that is fulfilling Jesus prayer for God’s Kingdom to come to earth as it is in heaven. It is the abundant, over flowing life Jesus promised would spill out into this thirsty world. As Peter said we are to remind our children, as well as everyone God put in our sphere of influence, of His basic truths as long as we are on this planet. Today lovingly do that. #BeTheEdge

“So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have.” 2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
