Proverbs 3:3 NASB

I saw a social media post yesterday speaking of what has occurred during the Covid 19 pandemic. “One of the biggest tragedies in all this is that we’ve all been taught to be afraid of each other”. It struck me that for many people there is some truth to that. I wonder what is happening in the mind of young children. I’ve watched my youngest grand children ages 18 months and 2 1/2 years as well as their 6-year-old sister as they have to maintain a very strict social distancing with my 87-year-old mother. I see them pulled up short as they begin to move toward her to hug her or show her something. The only thing I’ve heard them say to their exceptionally healthy grandmother that gives a glimpse of their confusion is, “When you aren’t sick anymore can we come swim at your pool, Grandmom?” I’ve also noticed that people in public tend to not smile and greet one another. They try and move away and create space. Very safe. However, this is also a good time to look for ways to connect on a personhood level. A smile, a nod and a greeting can bust through this time of frightening isolation. Today, as you are being the light of your Savior, be creative, safe, and kind. The world is desperately needing glimpses of your God. #BeTheEdge
