I’m not a big reader. I like to read, but I don’t carve out much time to sit still and do it. I really should. I’ve never listened to a podcast—I’m not exactly sure how to. I definitely know I should figure that out. I’m told there are some amazing things being taught and shared on them. Enough confession for today. What I do love is pursuing a deeper understanding of God—who He is and how He operates. When I do read, it’s most often for that very purpose. In this verse, Solomon reminds us that it takes intentional effort on our part to see and hear God. To understand Him means to seek out His wisdom. He promises to reward those who seek Him with all their heart. Osmosis is a scientific principle. It has to do with the passage of liquid through a semipermeable surface. That’s all the science you’ll get from me. My parents used to tell me I needed to study for school. They let me know I wouldn’t gain subject knowledge through osmosis. That was bad science—but good truth. We won’t gain insight into God by putting our Bible under our pillow hoping for osmosis to work. We have to read and study it. Today, make the effort. #BeTheEdge
