Proverbs 5:15 NIV

Sexual sin is perhaps the most publicly witnessed sin of the church in the 21st century. We hardly go a week without watching a spiritual leaders sins in this area exposed. Solomon spends much of Proverbs cautioning us about this issue. He knows the devastation experienced as a result of it. He witnessed the humiliation and blunting of Gods impact in his own family because of it. He tells us in this chapter of three solutions for this temptation. First is sex within the bond of marriage. Books have been written on the spiritual, mental, physical  and social impact of sex within and outside God’s design. The creator of sex tells us how it’s best practiced in the lives He created. Imagine that. Second He tells us in this chapter about the ever present and all knowing nature of God. He is always there, even when we sin. Ponder Him being in the room with you whatever you are up to. Third He reminds us of how a life of sexual sin ends up. It’s a picture of misery and destruction. Not a pretty picture. Sometimes we can be tempted to see God as a killjoy. We get this crazy notion that God created this amazing gift but wants us just to be tormented by it. Kind of like your grandmother making fresh cookies and wanting you to see, smell and long for them but never letting you have one. Today recognize your creator, His love for you and His desire for your pleasure and obey His instructions. #BeTheEdge
