The omniscience of God is one of the six tenets of a Biblical worldview. That means if we don’t believe and live by that truth, we’re missing an important element vital to living the full Christian life. He sees everything—the good and the bad. The term “an audience of one” has often been used in the Christian community to remind us that we live our lives solely to bring glory to God. It is He alone whom we live to please. In the world of artists and creatives, that same phrase is often used to mean that the artist performs or creates for themselves alone. There is perhaps no greater contrast between the lives of God’s followers and those who are not than these two extreme life views. This is not a criticism of creatives—many of God’s children are among the most creative people on earth. Some of history’s greatest art and music have been created to honor the true “Audience of One.” Living a life focused solely on ourselves—true narcissism—is the most dangerous way to live, both for ourselves and for others. It can harm us and those around us. But there is tremendous freedom in recognizing that our Audience of One is also our biggest fan. Today, live for Him. #BeTheEdge
