Proverbs 6:23 NIV

Solomon wants his son to know where to find light and safety in a dark and dangerous world. Sounds like what a parent would want to teach their child today. The world is easily as dark and dangerous now as it was then and it is hard to imagine a more important time than now for this advice. It is about the light and transformative power of God’s Word. A persons path can at times seem very dark, shrouded by a cloud. The next step in their journey can be confusing. At those times maybe, more than at any other, there is a command or truth of scripture to help us in our next step and lead us into the light of His plan. Often, although not always, the darkness comes from disobedience and sin in our journey but at those times God’s word and spirit offer correction and rebuke out of love to shine His light and to guide us back to His path. We can never drift so far off His path that He does not stand ready to bring us back, often in a single step of repentance and obedience to His revealed word. As we choose to obey His Word He responds by preserving our life and giving us eternal life. What more could we want. Today dig into His word and walk in His light. #BeTheEdge
