Proverbs 7:12 NIV

This chapter begs the question, “What is your greatest temptation?” What is that tender place in you where Satan realizes you are most vulnerable to fall? Is it the old parent’s list of sex, drugs, and rock and roll? Or the more powerful triumvirate of money, power and sex? The important question really is “what is your place?” The temptations we tend to be most vulnerable to are born out of years of broken behavior. Some individuals suffer abuse that predispose them to certain behaviors. Others are subject to just bad teaching or training. For some it is as simple as undisciplined and unaccountable behavior repeated until it has a death grip on their soul. I don’t know if you ever battled through an addiction – sex, drugs, caffeine, or nicotine are ready examples, but all sin can grip us over time and in the same way. When Jesus declares that He has come to set us free He is giving us the key to breaking the hold of sin in our story. His power and strength stand ready at the asking to target where we are weak and broken. Today, identify your struggle and call in the power of the resurrected King to break its hold. #BeTheEdge
