Proverbs 8:10 NIV

This seems so easy for Solomon to say since he was filthy rich at the time right. However he would understand the emptiness of wealth without wisdom. We have all witnessed the unhappiness and even destruction of some people who accumulated great wealth but did not have Godly wisdom to help them manage that kind of life. We have also seen children who did not gain wisdom and insight from working to build their wealth. In Asheville NC, as I’m sure in other large cities, there is a group of homeless kids know as the trust fund kids (late teens to mid 30’s). These young men and some women are homeless because they have been cut off financially for not being willing to go to school, learn and find work while they wait for future trust fund money to kick in. Many end up with addictions, in jail or dead because of their choice to wait on a wealth they never earned. Wisdom without wealth can produce a joyful and successful journey. Wealth without wisdom will only lead to heartache and disaster. The only wisdom worth pursuing is God’s. But, really their is no other true wisdom anyway. Today choose God’s instruction and live in peace and joy. #BeTheEdge
