I love my kids. That’s a given. I really love my grand kids (sorry Kev, Chris and Becca). In all seriousness both groups are great fun but with grand kids we parents no longer have to worry about them doing homework, brushing their teeth, eating their vegetables or a long list of other parental responsibilities. We get to enjoy them. We worry about them a bit but mostly we enjoy them. God enjoys humans. We think that the mess we tend to make would cause Him disappointment as well as the damage we are prone to cause others might dampen His joy but it doesn’t. He knew from the moment He breathed life into Adam, from time eternal actually, that we would be messy mortals. It’s why He sent a savior. In this chapter Solomon lets us know that wisdom brings joy. As the author of all wisdom Gods great desire for His creation is a life and eternity of true joy. Think about His design. Sure, sin may bring temporary pleasure but it is followed by long term sadness, disillusionment and brokenness. Wise living results in healing, restoration, love and joy. I love seeing my grand kids happy. I will do whatever I can to help that happen. God’s joy is experienced when His children walk in holiness and joy. Today imagine the high privilege of bringing joy to your creator and do it. #BeTheEdge
