Solomon is referring to the words of wisdom spoken by God. God has never spoken a less than completely honest or truly powerful word. As followers of God it is not difficult to know His truth. To the lost it is foolishness. They will never understand His truth until they know Him. If you could avoid being nailed to a cross by just saying what the person with the power wants you to say why not do it. Live to fight another day as they say. To the lost this not only seems prudent it seems wise. To His followers we understand the impossibility of Jesus speaking anything but the complete truth at that moment. We also understand the necessity of Jesus dying for that truth. To the lost this still seems folly and a waste. To the saved we praise God for Jesus obedience and willingness to stand firm, speak the truth and take the suffering and nails as a result. Jesus not only spoke the truth, He lived the truth. He even claimed to be “The Truth”. The reason, the only reason, life makes sense is because we live with the knowledge that there is an absolute, immovable, uncompromising Truth that guides our actions. Without that we are slaves in a “convenient” shifting world of a free for all where everyone chooses their own truth. Today live by God’s truth and be truly free. #BeTheEdge
