It’s time to grow up. That’s basically what Solomon says wisdom is telling us. Adults have been telling kids or immature adults it’s time to put away childish things and grow up. I had a friend who would see someone acting immature, put his thumb in his mouth and tell them to “get mature.” Even though it was funny, it still reflected a profound truth. At some point we need to grasp the reality that life needs adults to lead. As new believers we are given a protection of grace while we grow up in the faith. We reach a place where we can live by the truth we have learned. If we do not learn and grow in truth, we lose the excuse of being a new believer and are in danger of living an immature believer’s life when we should be beyond that place. Today, grow in Kingdom truth and live the life of a disciple.
“When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 NASB
