Proverbs 9:6 NIV

I’m on the keto diet right now. The reason I say ‘right now’ is because most often you’ll find me on one diet or another. Having grown-up as a type one diabetic I have been on a pretty restrictive diet for most of my life. Even though I am no longer diabetic I tend to gain weight when I eat fattening and unhealthy food. Imagine that. In the first part of this chapter Solomon talks about preparing a meal and inviting those who need a lesson on living well and eating well to come join in. The invitation comes with a promise that if they eat at this table they will live. There’s no doubt the core meaning of this verse is that as we live with God‘s wisdom and allow His Spirit to plant that wisdom deeply in our hearts and minds we will live a longer, healthier and happier life. There is a very practical reality to this truth: a wise person truly does think about the behaviors that will lengthen rather than shorten their physical lives. Imagine someone fixing every meal for you with the top priority in their mind being to keep you healthy, happy and alive. I would like to imagine that keeping it very tasty would be part of their agenda as well . Today recognize The Author of wisdom and truth has your eternal life and physical life forefront in His mind and eat from the table He has spread before you. #BeTheEdge
