In just a couple of hours, I will be attending the “8th annual: The Edge, ‘Iron Sharpening Iron Gathering’” event. This event is designed to challenge business leaders to take their faith into their work environments and allow God’s light to shine through them. I am awed by the successful men and women I see in positions of leadership who are clearly led by their relationship with God. I have watched many of these leaders, some for decades, and I’ve seen them refuse to compromise on God’s principles even when it would have been easy and profitable at the time. Most of them never even considered it. This didn’t just happen. They put themselves in places to be taught and mentored by other godly men and women. Not long ago I met with one of these leaders and posed a question I had been asked by a young person in their industry. It related to an ethical situation they were being pressured to compromise on by their boss. When I asked what I should tell them he said, “Tell them don’t do it.” I pushed a little and told him that not doing it might cost them their job. His response was, “Tell them don’t do it. It’s not worth it.” This man was very successful in that industry and knew the temptation and the long-term results on a person’s, heart, soul and reputation of those small early compromises. Today, put yourself in the position to learn from godly leaders and then pass that wisdom on to others. #BeTheEdge
