“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
I’m certainly not a business genius. As a matter of fact, a representative of the IRS once called me the world’s worst businessman. That being said, for some reason I do seem to end up in a number of meetings listening to business strategies being discussed. Often it’s about startups. If I could give only one piece of advice to a business startup or a restructure, it would certainly be this verse from Proverbs. Solomon was a brilliant businessman. So was Jesus. Committing to the Lord whatever we do—whether it’s in business or in life in general—is, when we really think about it as followers of Christ, amazing. Yet how often that step is skipped early in the process. As I said, I happen to sit in business strategy meetings more often than most people would probably imagine. Often I’m included because the leadership has reached a place of spiritual maturity where they realize this is a missing piece—or at least a somewhat ignored piece—that they want to begin focusing on more. I would call that brilliant business thinking. This passage is a guarantee. When we commit what we do to God, He will establish our plans. That establishing is not just taking what we come up with and making it successful; He will literally go to the foundation of the strategizing and planning and establish them on His truth and wisdom. Today, establish not only your business and your activities, but your entire life on the Lord—and watch Him do His thing. #BeTheEdge
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Jesus
