“Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.”
Over the years I have seen many people who try diligently to get to know the “important” people in their world. I watched it first working with teenagers. Many of them desperately wanted and made great effort to be in the perceived popular group. Often they were disappointed when they were unable to achieve that goal, often they were disappointed when they did. You see the perception of who is popular, influential or important can be deceptive. It can also be accurate but the results could be deceptive. At times we can achieve ‘the rulers favor’ only to lose it again. That can be more dangerous than not getting it in the first place. The bottom line is that the rulers favor may get us something we were after but it will never satisfy the deep hunger that can drive us to the point of broken and empty longing. Only our creator God can do that. Networking with those who can partner in helping us achieve God’s unique call on our life is a beautiful walking out of His agenda. Pursuing people for personal gain and to use them is wrong. Today allow God to direct your relational encounters and celebrate His gift of others in your journey. #BeTheEdge
