Proverbs 1:6 NASB

“To understand a proverb and a figure, the words of the wise and their riddles.” Proverbs 1:6 NASB

After years of sharing a devotional thought based on a verse from Proverbs every day, it seems like it’s a good time for a reminder. As we look at a verse from Proverbs 1 on the first day of each month, I try to encourage each of us to think through our contacts, family, church friends, and those we work with and invite them to join us in examining the wisdom of God found in this book. You can create a group text to forward this devotion; one business leader sends it in a group to 50 business associates and has each of them do the same with 50 of their contacts. Imagine the conversations that happen between some of these 2,400 men and women over time as they share a truth from Scripture. Others send it to their family. I start each morning texting it to my oldest grandchildren before they go to school, and to their parents, too. Some just need to be invited into the journey by having them download “The Edge Daily” app and letting the notification at 7:30 remind them to start their day with a word from the Lord. It is immeasurable what God’s Spirit will do in someone as His word enters their heart and mind. Today, think about who you can bless by gently encouraging them to get into the ultimate source of wisdom and life. #BeTheEdge
