Among many other things, my dad once told me “When you’ve got a winner, stick with it.” That advice has served me well in marriage, event planning and auto repair. I see a lot of quotes these days. Martin Luther King and John Lewis quotes have appeared in print, broadcast, and social media threads a lot in the past few weeks. For very understandable reasons. There are a few quotes from well know individuals throughout history that have and continue to influence my thinking. However, the most powerful source of quotes that come to my mind in powerful moments of decision and action, are from Jesus and the Bible, and friends and mentors from throughout the decades of my journey. I could write a book on wise counsel men and women of integrity and excellence have spoken into my story. They have become so natural to my thinking that I’m not sure where their counsel ends, and my experiences begin in shaping my thoughts. One quote I keep returning to these days is “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…” Today, consider who is speaking into your life and grab hold of their quotes guided by eternal truth, and read your Bible. #BeTheEdge
