Proverbs 10:8 NASB

The right thing to do is not always obvious. The more the cost socially or to our reputation the tougher it can be to know what to do. I find it comforting to know that when we truly desire to do the right thing in God’s design, He stands ready to tell us what the right thing is, and then to provide the strength to do it. When Joseph found out that his young teenage fiancée was already pregnant, he wanted to do “the right thing.” Quietly, and without embarrassing her, he was going to end the engagement and allow her to slip away to a distant relative’s care to finish her pregnancy and give birth privately. But God had a bigger plan, which involved a supernatural guest to carry out that plan. An angel visited and convinced Joseph that the baby was the promised Savior of the world and that he should tough it out, live with the criticism he would surely receive, and watch God work. As it turned out, he was able to train his son in a trade which was invaluable to Jesus in His three years of ministry. Today, listen to God’s plan and then walk in faith and obedience.
