Proverbs 11:1 NIV

You have probably heard the old saying “figures don’t lie, but liars figure “. You also don’t have to look far to realize you can probably come up with statistics that will prove just about any point you want to make. The confusion around the Covid vaccine is partly because of people who pick and choose which statistics they want to share and how they want to frame them. I am currently watching a friend struggle through how to share some financial information. He can actually share it in a way that will greatly benefit him. Without a doubt the person he is having to negotiate with is doing that very thing. He also knows that he can share his financial information in a very factual, clear way and even though he will most likely be taken advantage of by the other party, he believes it is what God expects of him. He is right. One of the truths that runs as a theme throughout Proverbs, and all the scripture for that matter, is that “the integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” I am confident that he will do the right thing. Part of the reason I’m confident of that is I’ve watch this person act with integrity in matters just like this for years and we have both seen God bless their company spectacularly during that time. You may think you have something to lose if you don’t “tip the scales” a little in your own favor at every opportunity. God‘s word assures us that no matter what we think that will never, ultimately, be the case. Today operate with unflinching integrity and watch God be the gracious Father we know He is. #BeTheEdge
