Proverbs 12:5 NIV

My son and I have an app development company. Because our business development strategy is slightly different than most companies that work with startups, I always seek wise counsel and insight before we enter into a deal to develop a new app. I’ve talked before in these Proverbs devotions about where we find advice and counsel. In the business arena, I go to the wisest, most successful, and godly businesspeople I know. So far, it has not steered us wrong. For counsel on living life, I go to some of the same people, but I narrow the circle to those who are older, wiser, and have lived godly and impactful lives. Sources of advice can make or break us. Solomon writes about safety in a multitude of counselors. He also talks about how those without counselors fall. It is his typical all-or-nothing kind of statement—and it’s true. No matter how wise a person believes they are—and they may be very wise—no one is designed to live a successful and powerful life without great voices speaking into their journey. Solomon has been referred to as one of the wisest men who ever lived, yet he strongly advised seeking counsel. At the same time, he cautions against wicked counsel. Wise counsel comes from years of seeking God. Today, find and learn to be wise counsel. #BeTheEdge
