Proverbs 14:15 NASB

Sometimes the naive can be cute. They are young and still lacking in life experience or exposure. That can actually be refreshing. Here, Solomon is reminding us that as we grow, we are responsible to learn, retain, and live by the truth and counsel of God. As we spend time exposing ourselves to God’s truth in His word and then in good teaching, we become wise in the things that matter. We may always be naive as to what a cinch hand or door card is in poker, but we have no excuse for not knowing how to live a powerful, God-filled life. The key to walking boldly and confidently into any situation, fully aware of the power and presence of the Creator and Sustainer of life, is at everyone’s fingertips. Today open God’s word, read it, ponder it, and throw naïveté away.
