Proverbs 16:6 NASB

Laws will never be enough to make a society civil, let alone kind, compassionate, and caring. You do not get lasting behavior change by forcing people to do what you want. Convincing someone that what they are doing is wrong doesn’t work either. And if punishment for wrong behavior or thinking were effective, then our recidivism rates in prisons and youth detention facilities would not be so high. Knowing and respecting God is where lasting change and repentance of wrong beliefs and behavior starts. Peace, kindness, and love is where it finishes. As we grow close to God, we see more clearly who He is and realize who He designed us to be. As that occurs, His Spirit replaces our brokenness with health. We not only get repaired, we get replaced. God does not rebuild our broken self. He kills the sinful man and resurrects us to new life. Today let the dead man stay dead and let the new you live. #BeTheEdge
