Proverbs 16:9 NIV

I have heard this often taught as a rebuke. In reality it’s an exciting encouragement. The truth in this verse is part of what makes me such a committed sovereigntist. Yeah, I know that’s not actually a word but you get it. When we recognizing that God has it all under control we can have peace in uncertain times. I think we all agree that these are certainly uncertain times. The other aspect of this verse I find affirming is that it is ok to make plans in our hearts. We need to. As long as we realize that the plans are birthed by the Holy Spirit working though His unique design in and for our lives. It is fun to watch God solidify the steps of the journey. Scripture tells us that as we delight in God He gives us the desires of our hearts. It’s two fold. He plants the desire in us as we follow His call and He fulfills that desire as we walk in obedience to Him. This whole concept is both exciting and encouraging. Follow God and you cannot fail. Nothing in this implies an easy, unchallenging path. It does tell us the journey is established safely in the hands of our King. Today walk securely in His power and presence. #BeTheEdge
