Proverbs 18:15 NASB

The CIA’s creed comes from the Gospel of John verse 9:23 which says, “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” We all learn that verse in some form or other early in our Christian life. Recently I have been told the CIA staff version of that creed is, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall tick you off,” or something like that. Similarly, as we grow in the knowledge of God and learn what it looks like to be transformed into His follower, we either accept and grab hold of that process, or we don’t like what it feels like and try to avoid it. Thankfully, God, who made us, knew exactly how each of His children would respond to His loving process. Just like our own children (if you have any) you immediately understand that each of them is different. God loves all of His children and He is committed, as His word tells us, to conforming all of us into the image of Jesus. We either go obediently with Him or kicking and screaming and getting bruised up. But He is the one committed to taking us to the beautiful completion we were created for. You can’t escape His love. You can suffer for ignoring it, but you ultimately can’t escape it. You see, it is His power and commitment to us, not our weakness and resistance, that will change us into the image of His Son. Thankfully. Today, quit the resistance, hear His voice, obey and change. #BeTheEdge
