Proverbs 19:11 NASB

Here is the conversation I could imagine. “Moshe, I know it’s your inn but I’m about to be step-dad to the Savior of the world. I think it would be advisable for you to find us a room. As a matter of fact, I think the nicest room, maybe yours, would actually be a good place to start. Let’s make this happen…NOW!” I’m a little concerned how quickly I thought of that conversation. We all know how to look out for our rights. It’s kind of the American way, right? I’m challenged by the way Jesus, literally the Creator of the world and everyone and everything in it, deferred to others and allowed His story to be subservient to those around Him. Even to the point of death on the cross, He demonstrated how to put others and their needs first. If anyone had the right to demand first place and first choice, it was Him. I am very confident it is never me. I have been grievously wronged, but never would I accept nails in my hands or a crown of thorns on my head. It is time for me, and maybe you, to step back and serve. Today, follow the example of the baby in a manger, the Savior on a cross and the Lord on the throne; put others first. #BeTheEdge
