Proverbs 19:6 NASB

Swing and a miss.  Much of the world may believe that connecting with rich and powerful people is the way to get ahead in life, but as followers of God we know better. We serve a God who will flip a thing on its head in a moment. First, why settle for who the world defines as those with gifts or riches to give; the Author and Creator of it all is already in an intimate relationship with us, His family. While most people chase “the favor” or the generosity of others, we can at any moment have the most intimate conversation with the generous, all-powerful creator and sustainer of life itself. The One the writer of Psalms reminds us “owns the cattle on 1000 hills.” Have you seen the price of a rib eye steak, lately? Secondly, we not only access Him in the whisper of a prayer or the bowing of our heart before Him. We also are immediately ushered into His presence, according to Jesus, when we are kind to “the least of these.” Looking for a rich and generous man? One who would pay the price of the life of His Son to buy your ticket to eternity with Him? Looking for one who gives gift? Check out all the gifts He has for His family in 1 Corinthians and throughout His love letter to you. Today, be generous to others and find your source of generosity in Him. #BeTheEdge
