Proverbs 21:4 NASB

We often hear that the eyes are the window to the soul. Imagine what it is we see in the eyes of a prideful person. Solomon tells us here, and it’s wicked. He doesn’t soften the description of those whose hearts are covered in the ugly guilt of sin. You’ve seen it. I know I have. Eyes that are almost frightening. Conversely, can you imagine the eyes of Jesus. Staring into them would be more than mesmerizing, it would be transformative.  Can you imagine the impact it would have on you when looking into the eyes of Jesus as He says, “Does no one condemn you? Neither do I. Go and sin no more.” Or how about this one – “Son, your sins are forgiven.” or “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” I believe even in silence Jesus’s eyes brings power, comfort, and healing to our tired, worn and broken souls. Our eyes reflecting the life of Christ inside our soul is just what’s needed in the world today. During this time of pandemic, when so many are wearing masks, our eyes can speak powerfully. Today, let the light of your Savior speak through your eyes, and share life. #BeTheEdge
