Proverbs 22:10 NIV

This seems a bit harsh. We tend to be all about patiently putting up with this kind of disruptor. Solomon has what appears to be a pretty brutal response to this type of person.  The implication here is that these people, the ones who seem to thrive at causing divisions and disagreements do it strictly for the sake of creating quarrels. Sometimes they do it to set themselves up as the know it all. One of their tools is to put the most negative spin on things they possibly can. It is a constant struggle for those with the best intentions not to take bits of information and create the most negative narrative about someone. The mocker or scorner does this intentionally. They weave as ugly a story from the most obscure detail that they can possibly create. Solomon tells us to cut that person off completely. As Abraham did with Ishmael or as Paul instructed Timothy we need to, at the very least, create distance with these people. I have people in my life, the kind I choose to spend most of my time around, who choose to believe the best and speak the best about others.  Life is way too short to fill our minds with negative and false news. Today speak kindness and love and look for the same from others. #BeTheEdge
