Proverbs 23:26 NIV

‬‬

There’s a fun story about a little girl walking through the snowy woods with her dad. She is following along walking in his footsteps. At one point she says daddy take smaller steps. I can’t get my feet all the way to your next step. It’s a cute image of what the father is talking to his son about in this verse. “Helping up mission” reminds us that ‘the heart’ speaks of attitude and ‘ways’ speaks of action. The son is being encouraged to think and act like his father.,Unless short circuited by sin all children tend to want to walk in the example of their parents. It’s a God created design. The purest form of discipleship or mentoring is father to son and mother to daughter. It is a beautiful gift every parent is capable of that costs nothing tangible yet everything. We give up selfish pursuits because of the eyes that look to us to lead so we choose God’s way. When we have children we are obligated to model Christlikeness. When we accept responsibility to be a leader at work we have the same obligation before God. Solomon is also encouraging his son to take note of his sin and its consequences as a lesson to avoid these same mistakes. Today be a leader, a disciple maker and model of God’s calling. #BeTheEdge

“Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.” Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬
