Proverbs 24:26 NIV

This may be one of the shortest and simplest truths in Proverbs. It’s also very refreshing. I love being told the straight forward, honest truth in every situation. Good or bad news makes no difference, I want the unadulterated, don’t beat around the bush, truth. Just tell the unvarnished truth. Starting to get the idea that I’m all about the truth. Tell the truth and dealing with it becomes a manageable task. Shade it, hint around it, hide it or anything short of that becomes a frustrating puzzle. Solomon says that it is like a kiss on the lips. This is referring to a wanted kiss from someone we love. It’s not a random, awkward fumbling kiss. It’s that “you may now kiss the bride” kiss at your wedding. This means it is done in love. Paul makes it clear that when we share the truth we only do it in love. Often the most loving things we can do is speak and, more importantly, live a truthful life. There is a reason that the savior of the universe called Himself “The Truth”. In its purest form the truth is a living representation of the Gospel. It’s the message of a savior laying down His life for ours. That’s a wonderful kiss of love and affirmation. Today speak and live the truth in love. #BeTheEdge

“…speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬
