Proverbs 25:2 NASB

It is tempting to want to believe we have God figured out. When I was much younger in my faith, I was surprisingly adept at identifying what God was up to, what He wanted others to do, and to predict what the outcome would be… until I kept getting it wrong. God, the formula – do these four things and it guarantees this result – seems a very safe and accommodating God. It’s how I would do it if I were Him. Recently, while praying, I found myself focusing on who God is in order to help me give Him appropriate praise. Trouble is, I struggled to picture Him. Seriously, what does looking at God look like? Finally, I settled on the vast universe and the power and expanse of the ocean to give me a glimpse of Him in His glory. After wrestling to comprehend the awesomeness of God, I suddenly realized a god I can comprehend or understand ceases to be God. We are not capable of a complete understanding of God. However, we are instructed to search for Him and understand His ways. The revelations come in the journey to know Him. Today, see Him in His creation but recognize it’s just a glimpse. The search will change us. #BeTheEdge
