Proverbs 25:5 NIV

As I was studying to write today’s devotional thought I found it interesting, though not really surprising, that almost everything I read talked about removing negative and toxic people from your story to help you grow and live a healthy positive life. The wicked was not so much things and stuff. It was people. It makes sense. Certainly what we watch and listen to can have a negative impact on our story. What we do can also be wicked and destructive. But, most of the time when we find ourselves living badly it is the result of who we choose to allow to influence our journey. Solomon let’s us know that when we remove those people from our daily life the result is a life well lived that will influence generations in a positive way. There has always been people whose purpose in life appears to be to take down as many others as they can. Rather then striving to have a positive, life giving influence on others they tend to find pleasure in destroying others. It may be as simple as the old saying “misery enjoys company.” In the same way there are those who take great pleasure in helping others become the best version of themselves they can possibly be. Today remove the negative influences from your life and be one who encourage the good in others. #BeTheEdge
