Proverbs 27:9 NASB

I’m not into essential oils. I’m not entirely sure I even understand them, but what I am sure of is that there are people and maybe even some science that consider them, well, essential. I am told they can boost energy, help with digestion, relieve stress, calm nerves, help with focus, improve mood, and reduce anxiety. I’m even told they have been known to fight infections, boost immunity, and assist in childbirth. That is an unbelievable list and it goes on and on. In the same way, Solomon wants us to know that time with a friend offers some of the same benefits. I don’t know about childbirth, but I have certainly found that time with a friend, talking through issues and exploring the questions of life, are powerful antidotes to a lot of what can ail my soul. Today minister to and be ministered to by a friend. It’s good medicine.
