Proverbs 30:18 NASB

Need somewhere to put your focus today? How about a beautiful sunrise or sunset at the beach? Or maybe looking across a stunning serene mountain lake. Or, how about a babbling brook in the middle of a gorgeous forest. Ok, so my vision of calm and majesty seem to all involve water. Or, your focus could be on the smiling face or giddy giggles of a 2-year-old playing in a sprinkler. Whatever it is, now may be the very time you need to sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, breathe deeply, and picture some of the spectacular gifts of creation that reflect in your spirit; the grandeur and expanse of the God of this planet and the universe, Who declares that He has plans for you that include a future and a hope. The news, social media and even conversation with friends are beginning to take a toll on our souls. It is time to declare truth instead of fear. This is not to make light of the very real hurt and pain inflicted by the disease and sin of this world. It is about calling it what it is and recognizing God for who He is. Today, our challenge is to not allow the disease or whatever we may be focusing on to obscure the God of our overarching reality. #BeTheEdge

“For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NASB
