Proverbs 3:26 NASB

New Year’s goals and resolutions tend to lead in one of two directions. Either they make our future stronger, more secure, and better for us alone, or they make us better people who are better for the world in which we travel. Neither is inherently a bad idea. Both provide definite motivation. For most, the motivation to improve our job performance, financial security, retirement prospects, etc. are the most firmly pursued. The resolutions to improve ourselves and our personal life, character, and impact on others are less defined and more easily strayed from. Here is the opportunity in both. When we let God drive both kinds of resolutions for change, we will be more likely to achieve success. Putting our security and achievements in His hands, guided by His calling and purpose for our life makes the prospect of success assured. And allowing His Spirit to build His character into us assures the character changes we desire. What He offers is a life guaranteed to be reflective of His love, joy, peace, etc.  Today, pursue the change He wants in your life and watch your future unfold with power, influence, and security.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 NASB
