Proverbs 4:25 NASB

I read a post the other day where the writer asked, “Can we skip the rest of this year?” It was written in jest…somewhat. Pandemics, riots, even a UFO hovering over Japan and numerous other challenges have been wearing all of us down, and by all of us I mean the whole country, if not the planet. In times like this the media (print, broadcast and social) and even conversations we have with each other seem to chip away at our collective spirits. We feel a need to stay informed and a pressure to participate otherwise we sense that we could be accused “you don’t care about others.” I propose that all around us only makes sense in light of the One over us. Seeing all things through the eyes of Jesus is the only way to understand and maybe even retain our sanity, in the midst of large and small storms. What I see in God’s Word tells me that Satan must really be scared. He is throwing everything he can at the world – in the same way he worked overtime to kill Jesus. But as in that story, we know who wins. God is never caught off guard, never out of control and never beaten. Today, look squarely in the eyes of your Creator and let His light shine on everything you see and encounter. #BeTheEdge

“Therefore, if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:1-2 NASB
