Proverbs 4:7 NASB

We live in a time where the acquisition of knowledge is moving at an unprecedented pace. According to an article in Industry Tap, “…nanotechnology knowledge is doubling every two years and clinical knowledge every 18 months. But on average human knowledge is doubling every 13 months. According to IBM, the build out of the “internet of things” will lead to the doubling of knowledge every 12 hours.” And that was 7 years ago (Apr 19, 2013). As a nation we are pursuing knowledge and gaining at a blinding rate. This has accelerated even faster in the science and medical world as we hit this pandemic. I find that both fascinating and comforting. God calls us to do the same thing in our understanding of who He is and who we are in that context. There have been few opportunities in our life to seek the big answers about life like we have now. The simplicity in this verse is that the desire for God’s wisdom is the first and wisest place to start. The result of stepping in that direction is the gaining of godly knowledge. That’s the kind we need the most. Bible scholars tell us that “knowledge” in this verse implies Jesus. Today, pursue God’s wisdom and find a clearer view of Jesus in the journey. #BeTheEdge
