“Whoever winks maliciously causes grief, and a chattering fool comes to ruin.”
Sid liked to make comments and then wink at me or whoever happened to be present. His comments usually were a slight toward another person present. They were always belittling and often downright malicious. I did not like Sid very much. He was mean while thinking he was humorous. He wasn’t. He was just mean. He was also not as clever as he thought. Most of the time the person he was making fun of was completely aware. It was evil. On the other hand, unlike Sid, the chattering fool is the person who is always talking and very often gets themself into trouble because they go to far. They end up falling, verbally, on their face. The lesson for this person is to just stay quiet or as James tells us, speak little and listen much. In the end neither is a particularly positive person to be around. Although the one who hurts themself is certainly a better option than the one who wounds others. Jesus example is to treat others as we would want to be treated. That certainly eliminates the malicious winking. Today just be kind. #BeTheEdge
