Proverbs 11:1 NIV

“The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.”

Here is the thing. God detests deceit. In business and throughout life He has no patience for those who would defraud others. As much as He detests deceit He is also the protector of those being deceived and ripped off. Some in business as well as life would be tempted to think that as long as the ones being taken advantage of don’t know it then no harm is done. Not so. When a friend had a house built the builder loved talking about being a follower of Jesus. He might have been. Not long after he finished and emptied the construction account he was gone. He is no longer a builder. They spent a lot of time and money fixing things that were done with inferior materials and laborers who had never attempted that type of project before. The lack of due diligence was on them. The lack of integrity is on him. The truth in this example goes across industries. God is never pleased when we use our faith as an excuse to treat someone with less than excellence. We are called to not only handle our dealings with honesty and integrity but when there is a legitimate question we are to take the hit and be willing to be the one who comes out on the short end of the deal. Fairness in our dealings should make everyone a winner. Dishonesty makes everyone a loser. Ultimately God will look out for the innocent and the honest. Today reflect Gods standards in all you do. #BeTheEdge
