“Whoever seeks good finds favor, but evil comes to one who searches for it.”
This verse is about looking for good in others lives. What a great way to live. I know I certainly love being around those kind of people. In this verse Solomon lets us know that we benefit by being that kind of person. It is returned to us as others recognize and desire our company. Something about the fallen nature of man seems to entice us to look for the bad in people…and then talk about it. This may be the saddest thing about the sin of gossip, it seeks to destroy both the talked about and the gossiper. As a person ferrets out bad news or information about another they go down a path of destruction aimed at another but also themselves. As much as some people seem to desire to hear negative news about others they fear you may be spreading the same kind of things about them. They will eventually want to avoid you. I have a great friends who I can never remember hearing say negative things about another person. I know they know things. It’s just of no interest to them to mention them. They are who I desire to be like and to be around. Today only speak good of others. #BeTheEdge
