“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”
This one hurts a little. We all want to believe we are the upright don’t we. We want to believe the best about ourselves. But, the thing is we do know ourselves. Thankfully God knows everything about us too, the public and the hidden, and He chooses to love us anyway. That’s right, chooses. You see none of us are 100% lovable. We know it, others know it and God is intimately aware of it. Yet, are you ready for this, He chooses to love us completely and unconditionally anyway. It’s not our job to be perfect but it is our responsibility to walk in integrity. The dictionary gives two definitions for integrity. First is “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness”. Second is “the state of being whole and undivided”. I like both of them. On the other hand Solomon talks about duplicity. “Duplicity comes from a Latin word meaning “double” or “twofold,” and its original meaning in English has to do with a kind of deception in which you intentionally hide your true feelings or intentions behind false words or actions.” That one I never want to be. God tells us that it is a destructive way to live. That’s pretty easy to understand. Today choose to live with honest integrity as God protects you and guides your path. #BeTheEdge
