Proverbs 1:2 NIV

“for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight;”

It is appropriate that every year on April Fools day we are at the beginning of another journey through the book of Proverbs. Chapter 1 clearly lays out Solomons’s purposes for writing these wise sayings. They are to help us develop correct understandings and perspectives of life and living and to become wise in how we instruct others. Similarly they are to enable us to more easily distinguish between truth and lies. Knowing good from evil can be a challenge these days. A lot of the voices speaking into our story want to present the world as gray, no black and white. Clear truth is shared through these words of wisdom penned by Solomon. It is a gift that God has readily given us not only in the Proverbs but throughout His Word. As we begin a new month in what has been a challenging year the resource of Proverbs is designed to be a guide through the haze of conflicting voices declaring to know the truth. The trip through Proverbs is also designed to equip us to navigate life as intended by the creator. What better source of guidance then the author of our story. Today recommit to diving into the source of all truth and living out what He reveals. #BeTheEdge

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭NIV‬
